Malawi’s netball export Towera Vinkhumbo has been named among the world’s best netballers of 2021. The Strathclyde Sirens goal keeper is on 5th position and the only African player in the annual award by Netball Scoop.
According to Netball Scoop's analysts, Vinkhumbo showcased a great performance in the 2021 Scottish Vitality Netball Super League. Netball Scoop's Jenny Sinclair states that Vinkhumbo's selection has come as a surprise to many, but she has proved her prowess.
Topping the list is Jhaniele Fowler of Jamaica, 2.Karin Burger-New Zealand 3.Courtney Bruce- Australia 4.Shamera Sterling-Jamaican 5.Vinkhumbo-Malawi 6.Sam Wallace-Trinidad and Tobago
The players were voted from a total of 23, 7 from New Zealand, 6 from Australia and England, 2 from Jamaica and 1 each from Malawi and Trinidad and Tobago.
