Meet Jackie Kantambe; The Face Behind ‘Moni Ndine Jackie’

In just a few years, Jackie Kantambe has grown from just a content creator to one of Malawi’s most celebrated digital storytellers. Although she is based in the UK, Jackie, popularly known for The Jaki Show, has officially surpassed half a million followers on Facebook, marking a major milestone in her content creation journey.

Launched in 2021, The Jaki Show had a slow start. The page struggled to engage, with most posts barely reaching 500 likes. But things took a surprising turn in January, 2024, when Jackie shared a photo of American rapper Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori. The post quickly went viral, drawing in more than 1,000 likes and sparking new attention for the page.

Since then, Jackie has refined her approach which was consistently posting compelling, well-crafted crime stories and current affairs updates. Her signature style is explaining even the most complex news in simple Chichewa, with a storytelling voice that’s hard to ignore. This unique style has indeed come in handy especially for those who are lazy readers and prefer audio books. It’s this blend of authenticity, language and consistency that has transformed her platform into a fan favorite. Her stories include; true crimes, funny stories, biographies and historical events another local and global.

The recognition followed soon after. In December 2024, Jackie was crowned Best Female Content Creator at the prestigious MASO Awards, further cementing her impact on the Malawian digital space. 

With half a million followers and growing, Jackie is proving that storytelling, especially when rooted in culture and clarity, has the power to connect and inspire across borders.
