Meet Dr. Tamika Kampini, a determined and resilient young woman from Malawi whose journey of educational excellence is nothing short of inspiring. Despite facing numerous rejections, Dr. Kampini's determination and passion for knowledge led her on a remarkable path. From overcoming multiple public universities rejections to obtaining multiple postgraduate degrees and scholarships, her story is the true example of the power of perseverance and the pursuit of one's dreams.
In 2008, Dr. Tamika Kampini set out to achieve her dreams by taking the Malawi School Leaving Certificate examinations. Unfortunately, she faced a series of challenges when her applications to public universities were met with disappointment. Without giving up, she persevered and applied for parallel programs in public universities in 2009, only to face further setbacks. However, she refused to be a quitter and spent the whole year searching for private universities.
Dr. Kampini's resilience bore fruit in 2010 when she was accepted into Malawi Adventist University, a private institution. Throughout her time there, she demonstrated dedication, graduating in 2014 with distinction. The pursuit of knowledge did not stop there, as she embarked on a Master's program in Accountancy and Auditing in 2015. Two years later, she completed her Master's degree and was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Fund of Cooperation and Knowledge for another Master's program, this time in Italy.
Dr. Kampini's willingness took her on a global journey. She moved from Italy to Hungary, where she pursued yet another Master's degree under the Erasmus and Double Degree Scholarship. In 2019, she achieved a momentous milestone by graduating with dual Master's degrees. Not having the urge to rest, she received the African Union Scholarship, leading her to Cameroon to pursue a PhD program.
The year 2020 marked a turning point in Dr. Kampini's life as she embraced two significant milestones. She became an Adjunct Lecturer, showcasing her expertise and passion for sharing knowledge with others. Additionally, she embarked on a new chapter as she entered married life. Despite these new responsibilities, she continued to excel and was admitted to the prestigious UNDP Young Professional Program in 2021.
In 2022, Dr. Tamika Kampini welcomed her first born son into the world. Alongside the joy, she continued to blaze a trail of academic excellence, earning the UNED Predoctoral/Doctoral Research Scholarship and the Coimbra Group Visiting Scholarship in Granada/Spain for 2023. Dr. Kampini's remarkable journey shows the power of perseverance, determination, and a thirst for knowledge in achieving one's dreams and making a positive impact on the world aswell as serving as a role model to young women.
