Seriously, How Long Is The Month Of January?

We often joke about how long January is or feels in comparison to other months of the year.  January is intended to be a month where celebrate a new start rather than stressing about debts, bills and tasks.  Of course, the month's melancholy tone is set by the mental and financial effort that comes with having to adjust from the holiday season to normal routines.

Post-holiday debt and baggage. A lot happens over the holiday season which puts a strain on our wallets, talk of the bills and overspending that comes with visiting family, buying gifts, and attending the various festivities. And after that, one must mentally and financially prepare to keep up with their regular routines, like returning to school or job, which can be quiet stressful.

New Year, New Pressures-The celebration of a new year is eclipsed by new expectations.  Instead of welcoming the new year and all it has to offer, one ends up spending a quarter of the month or more regretting their decisions of the previous year or worrying about when their next paycheck will finally come to fix it all. If one is not worrying about that then, then they are definitely worrying about when they will finally feel settled in the new year and start executing their goals and new year resolutions. It goes without mentioning that, to cope with the month of January, one must make significant changes to their routines and budgets, which may include limiting trips throughout the holiday season, carefully selecting which events to attend, and purchasing gifts before the holiday season.

Can you believe it? January is 31 days long, just like the six other months on the calendar?

Life must go on, have fun! Just because the holiday season is long past us does not mean you should miss out on all of the enjoyment. There are numerous enjoyable activities that can be undertaken without incurring any financial costs. Take a slow walk, go for a drive, read a book, try a new meal, and reflect on how far you have come!

31st January, we did it, we survived! as we enter a new month , let us embrace positive habits, reconnect with loved ones, prioritize self-care, and engage in things that bring us joy.
