This weeks Fashion Friday we focus on Chilundu


Chilundu is our traditional Malawian attire for women, it’s a piece of cloth woven from a fabric from the waist downwards together combined with a blouse and sometimes a head wrap locally known as duku to match. Chilundu attire is very modest and simple in appearance and little known in Africa, but it is a fashion that has stood the test of times in the warm heart of Africa.
