Having a heart of helping someone is rare. There are some kind-hearted people, all over the world, whose purpose is to help others, either young ones or the elderly. I would like you to meet the founder of “Mai Mbambande Foundation”, Deborah Mbale, whose aim is to help elder women in different ways and make sure that their rights are not violated in this country.
The foundation started in 2020, whereby Mbale’s target has been different villages across the country. Mbale said, "Mayi Mbambande Foundation has an elderly home in Dzama Village, T/A Chatukula in Lilongwe District and we have 50 elderly people in our care."
At the facility, they provide the elderly with daily meals, clothing and medical attention. By doing so, some challenges faced by elderly women are being curbed in the country, for example, most elderly are discriminated against, called names and even hated by some people in communities. Even though the biggest challenge which is there is food and transport, the founder appreciates those who visit them.
Writing on her Facebook page, Mbale says, "Our vision as Mai Mbambande Foundation is to show these elders what being loved feels like. It goes beyond giving them food; it is a bond and relationship it carries along."
This young Malawian lady's foundation which helps elderly women is making a positive impact on the lives of the elderly in this country. Her foundation is helping to address some of the challenges faced by elderly women, including discrimination and is contributing to the development of the country. Her work is inspiring other young people to get involved in similar initiatives and make a difference in their communities. Let us join hands in supporting her and accrediting her good work as well as giving her flowers.
