The pandemic revealed and brought to the fore shocking levels of racial injustice here in the United Kingdom and showed how this this form of discrimination is woven into the very fabric of our society, from our economy to our healthcare system and into the education system. Thus, poverty rates in Britain vary significant by ethnicity. The statistics are even gloomier for women, with Black women suffering the largest penalties.
